Reviews are In!

Hey Bloggers! As you should all know, we released a demo! Yay! I hope you all got a chance to play it, but if not stay tuned! Our player reviews are in!

After every demo, we asked that the players answer a short questionnaire so we could get an idea of what they thought of the game. Even though only about half of the players responded we got a lot of really great feedback. So let’s get down to it.

The first question we asked was a rating for the experience as a whole. Our average answer was a 5, but don’t let that discourage you! Responders told us that the sound and the AI were the biggest problems with the game, which are both things that we already knew about, and that we have been working on tirelessly since the release. In the next demo, both of these areas will be completely revamped!

The second question was about the responsiveness of the AI. Our most common response was a rating of 1. The AI were barely responsive, but we knew this going into demo. In order to get our feet of the ground, some things weren’t perfect yet, and that’s ok. Our AI system is already loads better than what it was at during the original release.

The third question is where our ratings pick up. We asked players to tell us how responsive their characters were, and overwhelmingly people were thrilled! We already have a great character response system! One down, more to go!

The fourth question was all about the sound. For those of you who played, you know that the sound was continual and steady instead of fading and getting louder as you got closer to enemies. While our players did not like that, they did like the sounds overall. I am personally counting that one as a win!

Our fifth question asked about bugs. And for our first demo, we were pretty bug free! Other than a few people falling through walls…

Our sixth question asked our players how much they liked the core mechanics of the game. Although a lot of people were too distracted by the AI and sounds to pay attention, those that did pay attention, loved them! Another score for our awesome demo!

We also asked players if they would like to see more routes being made available in the levels, and overwhelmingly, people definitely wanted more routes! So we will be adding this feature into the final game.

Next, we asked our players how they felt about our difficulty system, and again, people really liked it! You can be sure that this is another feature we will not be getting rid of.

Since this is a horror game, we obviously wanted to know if our players got scared! And you said yes! We were so excited to hear this. It meant we had achieved our goal! Although some of the scariness was lost as the game progressed do to the broken noise, we got some of you guys from the start! This is the best news by far to come out of this review.

One of the most interesting reviews to come out of our demo was the final question we asked. We wanted to know if having a co-op or multiplayer mode would make more people want to buy our game, and it did! We are now in the talks of adding this feature to our games.

As you can tell, we got a lot of information out of this demo. It would seem to us, very excitingly, that the community is interested in what we have to offer! You can be sure that we are going to fix those bugs, crank up our AI, and solve our sound problem. We are so grateful for all of your support, and we really look forward to continuing to share our new developments with you, as we continue to make this an outstanding new horror game!

And, this was not the end of your chance to help us along the way! We are still looking for a level designer and texture artist. Plus, after I asked really nicely, the creative director has given me the permission to offer our bloggers one more week!!! To play the demo. Please send in those emails ASAP! We still want as much feedback as we can get, and we still want people to try out our game!

We really hope you enjoyed our demo. Check in next week for the latest exciting news to come out of our studio!

Signing off, Keri Irace PR Manager
