We're Bringing Sexy Back

Today, we’re sad to see our PR Manager, Camilo leave. With him leaving though, we’re able to usher in a new host of possibilities. On top of our search for a second Character Designer, we’ll also begin searching for a new PR Manager and environment artist/3D Modeler. If you’re at all interested in these positions, please don’t hesitate to apply.

That’s not the purpose of this devblog though. Today, we’re showing off our sexy new HUD. So in case you don’t remember, previously it looked like this:

And while it’s stylized minimalism is nice, it’s not a fantastic HUD by any means, especially when we’re shooting for a game that looks nice. So over the past few weeks, I’ve been working heavily with our newest texture artist, Priscilla, to make a much nicer, and complete HUD, for every feature that’ll be in the game. Actually, this HUD doesn’t really show 100% everything, just where it’ll go. Some of these features are things we haven’t really talked about yet, because they haven’t been coded, but they will be worked on for the next build. Let us know what you think!

The layout is fairly similar, but this time around we have a specific section for pickups, unlike previously, and we’ve moved security card to a vertical position where it was horizontal previously. The Upper Right hand corner is being reserved for something special that we’re looking forward to talking about in the future. The lines are used to help bring home the sci-fi feel and will be closer to the edge to not be overly intrusive in the game. Best of all, you’ll get to see this HUD in action, when the current build is released to the public!

Signing off,

Noah Stavish
