Beyond Equilibrium Items & Collectables (1)

Happy Tuesday everybody!

Today we are going to tackle the massive list of items that you can collect throughout the levels of Beyond Equilibrium, which will help you when encountering enemies and environmental hazards. Overall, the objective of these items is to have them purposefully rare or difficult to find, as it realistically might be the case if you ever find yourself in a malfunctioning spacecraft. It gives the players’ efforts that scavenging effect we want for the survival aspect of the psychological horror.

Health packs are your standard in-game healing mechanic for when you’re down and out and need a huge boost of health to get moving again. There are limits to this, though; you may only carry one health pack at a time, and as the levels progress they become increasingly harder to find. So our best advice to you for handling health is: don’t screw up in the early levels by using all of the health packs!

Repair packs are specifically designed to repair your gas mask when it becomes damaged from combat. Similarly to the health pack, repair packs are difficult to find (but not nearly as difficult), and can only be carried in quantities of one. The repair packs are essential for areas of high-concentration neurotoxin, so make sure you keep one of these handy.

There are three types of batteries planned for the game: D batteries, AA batteries, and energy cells. Each type of battery has a specific function that powers one of your gadgets. The D batteries are used to power your flashlight, which, as you might have already guessed, is incredibly valuable. They are still quite difficult to find, but are the most common item in the game.

Similarly, the AA batteries are used specifically for the taser gadget, and are difficult to find (though the AA batteries are slightly more difficult to find).

The third battery type is the energy cell. The energy cell’s specific function is to power the Holographic Security card, which is used to open doors, hack cameras, and hack droids in order to gain an edge and progress.

All of the battery types that you can find can only be carried one at a time inside each device they power, so don’t use your flashlight/taser/security card unless you can find the power for them quickly.

That’s all for this week’s blog! Next week, we will continue to talk about the rest of the items that you can collect and what they do. Thanks for reading!
